- How do I build a new site?

To switch view (you can toggle back and forth very easily) simply click on Basic View beside the title above the Toolbar, or select Switch to Advanced View in the Switch view panel. Then in the Advanced Toolbar, click title --> New Site. The new window will open and you will be able to complete the web building process again for a new site. To return to Basic View just click on Advanced View above the Toolbar, then select Switch to Basic View in the Switch view panel.
- How do I log into to my site?
Many sites will have a login button that appear at the bottom right hand corner of the site.
If this is not there, you can always log in to your site by adding /login/ to your site web address in your browser address bar, i.e. www.yoursitename.com/longin/ This will load the login panel for you to enter your username and password.
- Why does automatic login not work for my additional site addresses?
The automatic login feature uses 'cookies'. Cookies have a security feature which means that they only work with a particular domain. This protects your privacy by presenting any information stored on your PC about one website from being read by another website. What this means is that for each site address you use on your site you'll need another cookie. The exception is if you always use our primary site address to access your site.
- How do I get my site to appear in search engines?
The best way to get search engines to index your site is by getting a site that is already listed to link to your site.
Google and others follow links from sites to create their indexes, so if you have another site already listed, use that to link to your new site. If you don't you can ask another site to link to you, or submit your site directly to search engine i.e. for Google use http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl.
This is the very basics of Site Engine Optimization (SEO) which is an interesting process of getting your site ranked well by browsers. You can download our SEO Guide from the Website Coach which is a free subscription area. It is worth downloading it and working your way through it. Here are some ground rules to get your started.
Firstly, nobody can guarantee you a high position in search engine rankings. Search engines keep their search algorithms very secret and update them regularly to make sure they produce true and accurate results - after all this is their business.
The second thing to know is that SEO takes real work. You're going to have to give it some thought and make changes to all the pages in your site. This will take time and you may want to adjust things after a few months as you start to see results or the lack of results. The Internet is a great potential market but you need to invest time and effort in marketing your site if you want it to be successful. SEO is a good way of doing this but it doesn't always come easy for everyone. Next, it's going to take time for your rankings to improve.
Search engines can take months to even list your site and then further time to assign you a rank. They will review your site periodically and check for updates but the frequency of this can vary. So don't expect too much too soon. The rule of thumb is that it will take three months to see results from your SEO efforts but this will vary greatly from site to site. Many sites that rank highly have been around a long, long time.
